Am I eligible for the funding?

  • be a resident of Alberta as of March 15, 2020, and

  • living off-reserve; be at least 16 years old on the date you apply, and must be First Nation (Status and/or

  • Non-Status), un-affiliated Metis and/o Inuit.


Where does this funding come from?

  • Through its national affiliation with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP), and with support from Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, ACAA is able to offer emergency COVID-19 financial support to Indigenous individuals and families living off-reserve and residing within Alberta


What documents do I need to submit?

  • You will need to sign the application as well as submitting your proof of residency.


When is the deadline for applying?

  • This funding application process is on a first-come-first-served basis. There are no guarantee applications will be accepted as this is all based upon limited funds available.


How does the application process work?


How long does it take to be approved?

  • Applications will take a minimum of 7-10 business days to be processed.


What can I get from applying?

  • This funding is available to applicants which are one-time support based on needs.


How much can I be approved for?

  • Each application submitted is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approvals are determined based upon the needs identified, and the criteria provided with the application form.


What if I do not hear from you?

  • If you have not heard from us it is because we are still reviewing your application. We will contact you with a status confirmation via email once your application process is complete. We will follow up with all applications upon completion of the application process whether the results are approved or not. 


How is the application processed?

  • Once the application form is received and approved based upon identified needs. Once the application is approved internally then the approved amount is forwarded to the applicant.


Can I submit my application by fax?

  • No, unfortunately, we do not use a fax machine.
